Green/Dodd marriage
« on: Tuesday 04 November 08 20:20 GMT (UK) »
I am searching for a marriage between a Norma Suzette(maybe listed as Susette) Dodd to  Kenneth Green.  Norma's  place of death is listed in Aberconwy, but am unclear as to whether she married in the Aberconwy area.  Would be grateful as to info. on to whether they had any children.

Katie

Hi Katie
Any idea of dates?    When did Norma die?

Hi Andrea,

Norma died in September 1995 and I know for definate that she was a widow.  I can not however find a death for Kenneth or indeed their marriage.

Look forward to hearing from you

Katie

If it is as recent as that then you will have to be very wary about what you post as we do not mention any details of living people on rootschat and it is fairly obvious that her children will still be alive.  You can search yourself on FreeBMD for her marriage and for any children as the mother's maiden name is shown on births after 1912.  The full BMDs may also be worth a look as FreeBMD is not full coverage.  They are on various paying sites.   www.ancestry.co.uk is one and you can often get a free trial on that.    You may find that a global moderator removes your post if they think it contravenes our living people policy.

Thanks

Not sure if she had any children as I can not find anything  so it is very doubtful..  Any info on a marriage alone would be very useful.

Thanks

Do you have an excat date of death?

A newspaper death notice might list any children she had if any at all.

Just thinking if there was no death notice, then do you have an idea as to where she is buried.

If so you may be able to find out who the funeral director was and they might be able to give more info to you.

That would depend on how you are related

According to the death index her DOB was 24 Dec 1921,so you will not find her marriage.....from 1941 onwards I would think,on Free BMD.
You will need to trawl through the pay per view COMPLETE indexes 1/4 by 1/4 .

The same will apply to finding any children.

With a name like Green I don't envy you,it's not impossible, but you'll need plenty of time and plenty of coffee  ;)

I think a few questions to other family members may be the best way to go here.
