Dear Helen,
That would be fantastic!  Thank you so much. Yes, I would be extremely grateful if you would visit Stroud Library for me. I live in the Scottish Hebrides and I don't get down into England very often. I will repay you for all expenses which you incur.
The death cert states that my father, John Hopper, died on 23rd December 1956, aged 41 yrs, on the road leading from Sheepscombe to
Cranham, in the parish of Painswick. He was living at 59, Green Acre Pound Farm Estate, Brockworth and his occupation was ' a Charge
Hand Aero Fitter. His death was registered on the First January 1957 by the Coroner as he died of a fractured skull, having accidentally fallen from a 'motor cycle combination'  after hitting a stone wall.
I look forward to hearing from you.    Many thanks once again.
          Regards   John

I know Pound Farm well, where he was living/working, as it is now a small open air nursery / shop selling veggies etc.

Dear Jo,
Yes, indeed, Richard and I are half brothers and as Richard has another brother it means that I have another half brother too.  We have the same father but different mothers.    Richard has already been to see me on the Isle of Mull where I live and I am now preparing to go down to meet more of my relatives.    It is marvellous to think that after 71 years I have at last found my birth family.  As you can imagine, I am over the moon as is Richard !   I owe everything to 'Rootschat' ! Without their help, I wouldn't have found my family. It is 4 years since I put a message on the message board which just shows  how useful the website is even after so many years.  I have also had some wonderful help from 'Rootschat ' members for which I am eternally grateful.
Thanks for your interest.                                  Regards   John

;D ;D ;D That is so nice, I am so happy for you!

Rootschat is wonderful and I love the wealth of knowledge on here and spend ages reading through posts even though I hardly do any FH history stuff.

I wish you and your new found family much happiness!!
