There are 2 Obadiah Ames in the 1851 census father aged 25 & son aged 2 in Aston Birmingham, son b Buda Peste Hungary father in Birmingham.

HO / 107 / 2061 page 2 at 2 Couch Street

the OWA from Buda Peste may be (I think) the father of the OWA in this photo.. but I haven't as yet made a definite ink.
But coincidences are that my great grandfather (in the photo) OWA's mother was called Emma and he cited an 'Enoch' as his brother on his 1902 militia attestation (when he was aged 17)..
so I think that that Enoch was the Enoch in the 1881 census in Mile End and was in fact a half-brother  (as I think Enoch's mother was the 1st wife of the older OWA.
That reads a bit confusingly maybe!

Sylvia : Thanks for the Burnley reference also .. I had ordered a certificate and this is the Buda peste OWA with his (looks like) FOURTH wife (!) . Busy man.
