I have an ancestor (Henry Cook born 1830) who was a private in the 6th (inniskilling) Dragoons and was in India following his time in the Crimea.
I'm hoping he took part in the charge of the heavy brigade but have no proof yet but I'm told he was eligible for the Balaklava clasp.
If there's someone out there with the medal rolls for either the Crimea and/or India could they please do a search to see if this is all true?
