Nunnerleys Buildings
« on: Wednesday 29 October 08 18:55 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I have just received a marriage certificate for 1879 where the couple married in St Peter's, Macclesfield.  They gave their residence as Nunnerleys Buildings.  Can anyone assist me with the location so I can find them on the 1881.  Thanks.

Hi JanT,

I can't see any reference to Nunnerley's Buildings, if you can post the names and approximate ages of the married couple perhaps we could help you to find them?

Hi Jean, thanks for the reply.  They were James Galbally and his wife Margaret (nee Tristram).  He was an Army Sergeant and they married in St Peters, Macclesfield.  I have them in 1891 in Blackburn but they weren't there in 1881.  I suppose as he was in the Army they could have been abroad or in fact anywhere in the country.  He was born app 1844 and she was born 1843, both Macclesfield.  Best Wishes.  Jan

Sorry Jan, I can't see them anywhere - did they have children, and where were they born?

No they never had children, Margaret definitely born Macclesfield and Peter says he was born Macclesfield but I have not been able to find a birth for him.  The name Galbally has been spelt in many ways.  There is a possibility he was born in Ireland, I suppose that's another avenue I should explore.  Many thanks for trying to help Jean.
