Writing on Farmers Truck please
« on: Wednesday 29 October 08 13:09 GMT (UK) »
Hello

This photo belonged to my grandad. The writing on the back of the photo said it was his friend at Garlinge, Kent.

I can't make out the full writing on the side of the truck.

I read it so far as -

? J Fasham
Dairy Farmer
?       ?
?      Margate

Can anyone read the full writing ?

The first two lines are the same as on the shop awning.

Thanks David

Yes the 1st two lines are the same as the shop awning.

I could not make out the 1st initial.     G J Fasham it is then !
I wonder if a street name is on the truck also ?

I think it says

G J Fasham
Dairy Farmer
Alfred? Rd or Dr

final town is, I believe, too long for Margate, and looks like 2 words to me.  I can see the g you mention towards the end of the second word.  It's not Leigh is it?

Thanks for your help Igorstav.

I see what you mean about Alfred Rd. Could well be  :-\

I still believe the last word to be Margate because Garlinge is a supberb of Margate.

It just seems so long a word to be Margate.

I keep looking and I can see what I think is a capital in the middle.  The very first letter does look like an M, though.

Don't know Kent well enough!

I see two words at the bottom.

As i say Garlinge is so close to Margate. I am definately going for Margate as the last word.

The writing is very blurry in this photo  :-\
