The Silver Hatchet Gang?
« on: Tuesday 28 October 08 21:01 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Does anyone have any information on the above mentioned eg. names linked to this gang?

I have found a mention of them linked to a dock murder, but have no further details.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Looks like you need to look at the "Hull Times". Should be local to you?

They met in a back room of one of Hull's pubs in Hull. A colleage at work was told that they only allowed children in to serve them (less chance of overhearing something they should'ent!) - one of which was a relative who told him about them. Story goes they were effectively wiped out in the first world war.

I'll ask him tomorrow see if I can find more out

Hi The Silver Hatchett gang actually bring back memories to me  ;)

It was before my time that this gang existed, but I was told many many times about them,
The reason for this it still seems to had an effect even in my early days, I know there was a dockland murder case and often Mafia type moves, I still have several names in clublands and other buisnesses, some born out by my mentioning and given FREE membership by the landlord of the clubs, and yes the names still remain to this very day.

The active roll that my grandfather played was a bookies runner, this was a two bit job to do with them, but it still brought in favors, I can be contacted to give out those names if neded, but apart from that I cannot recall to much. please contact me in private if I can add my tupence worth
.

Was talking to a friend today and said I was researching my tree. I said I would help them too. To my surprise, she said, Can you find anything about my father? He was in a gang called the Silver Hatchet Gang!!..So, in answer to your question, I can find out...If of course you need  the info :-)
