Silvery

Thanks so much for all your help - it is very much appreciated.   It will be great to pass on this info to my Mum.  I'm naturally now intrigued about Fred Slater.   I suppose the only way I can find out more is through a marriage certificate and if the father isn't there I'm out of luck?

Well yes, but you never know.  I'll be interested to know about him though.

Hi

Do you think it would be worth going onto another part of Rootschat to see if we could find out more about Fred Slater?   As a newcomer I don't know the etiquette or if that would be a waste of time.

Yes of course,  someone else may find something, certainly.

If you could post the link to here so that they see what's been found already, that would help.

[Go to the address where it starts http://www      etc etc and right click it and copy.  Then paste it in your next query.    Just explaining (or trying to) in case you don't know, sorry if you're ok with it.]

Hi Silvery

Sorry to trouble you again but would you suggest Shropshire?   In terms of how to link the subjects I'm afraid I have no idea.   You say go the address where it starts???

I don't know which browser you are using.   If you go to the top of the page wherever, you should see and an address beginning 'http//www.rootschat.com..... ........' and so on.
Right click on it, the then 'copy'.   then when you are posting your new query right click and 'paste'.  It is very easy.   (when you know how I suppose)

Do you want to post your query on the 'beginners' board?   It would attract some attention, and the mods will move it to where it should go.

I'll keep a look out, and you just post, and I'll do the link.  But try and have a go at the link.  You have nothing to lose   :D

You could do with his father's name from the marriage cert.   It's not a cheap interest - family history  ;)
