Thanks Andy,

I was more concerned with how much it would cost my brother if I phoned him.

Hi Kassie

The cost to your brother will also depend on what tariff he's on - could be costly as a "reunion" call is unlikely to be short!  Why don't you email and ask if he has Skype or similar - its free then!

You have to add the international dialling code to get a number to another country. I've just checked the BT website http://www.thephonebook.bt.com/publisha.content/en/search/international/record.publisha?id=L40
and they say to call the UK from Canada you need to dial 011 44 plus the number, but without the first 0, so 011 44 7815 etc.

That is what I thought Arranroots.  It is kind of complicated but for reasons which I will not go into, I can not e-mail him.

I am going to text him and wait for a response.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Will be on the Welsh boards soon.

best wishes
Kassie

Kassie,

You may well know this already, but if you're texting you can put  + in front of the 44 instead of the international 011 code. So +44 7815... will do the trick.
