Remembering at this Remembrance time of year
« on: Sunday 26 October 08 08:58 GMT (UK) »
Good morning ,

This time of year we remember friends and loved ones killed in action serving our country.

This picture has in it, my uncle second from the left. I did not know him sadly, he has always been spoken about in our family though, so I feel that I do.

He was killed in action during Operation Market Garden and is buried in Nigmegan in Holland. He was only 25.

Sorry to go on.

We do not know where this was taken or who the other men are. Would it possible to remove the spots please. It would look really nice I think staying in black and white, my Aunties would love it I am sure to see their brother.

Thank you very much.

Meg

Not a very good picture quality to start with I'm afraid.

Hope something will be possible.

Hi have you ever visited his grave? Im hoping to go to Kasterlee which is about an hour away to visit my great uncles grave James Boardman for the 1st time who also died in the same battle.
My grandfather is the only one to visit which was not long after he was killed during the war and he arrived at the cemetery when it was dark and struck a match and said where are you brother and there he was right in front of him!
When i go i will try and visit your uncle's resting place and pay my respects to a brave soldier.

Meg...

Do you know your uncles unit? Or what was going on a the time?

If not, pop his name up and we'll tell you some details...

And no...you are NOT going on... ;)
