Sorry, Les, but what reference got you to TAPPIN?  There wasn't one I saw in the post where you mentioned the TAPPIN must be mine ... if it was John WILLIAMS marrying Sarah TAPPIN, I've got it but, otherwise, I don't know/see what reference you refer to.  HELP!

ok so we have 2 possibilities

Ellen Dorsitt (Dorset ec.) b. 1833 Princes Risborough UNMARRIED with a child Laura aged 1 month in 1861
in Northampton RG9;  935;  53;  33;
and then again in 1871 over in Leicester  : RG10;  3287;  97;  9; and no little Laura  

but in 1891 (back in Bucks) we have Ellen RIXON RG12;  1143;  34;  6;

so do we have a birth for Ellen Dorsitt (and variants) in PrincesRisborough the same time as 'our' Ellen?
i could not see a marriage betwixt Ellen Williams and Mr Dor* in Bucks but as Ellen is in Northampton in 1861 of course the marriage may have occurred elsewhere

remember Rose - Kates sister seems to have married under the name of Weller to Rixon - all very confusing but family ties and all that
it seems that most likely people married within their boroughs regardless of any other factors  
or of course Ellen Dorsitt may have married mr Rixon
