Hi Sue... this is all I have on SEVERN so far... any extra info would be great. As for the JOHNSON line... I think the THORNHILL/JOHNSON is a different line... no connection as of yet.

Cheers, Peter.

Hi Peter-this is a "recent" marriage-by my standards anyway!
21 April 1938 St Andrews Church langley Mill
HAROLD HOLMES 21 bachelor Loco Driver of The Midland Hotel Langley Mill father HAROLD HOLMES florist
married
ANNIE FLORRY SEVERN 24 spinster of Midland Hotel Langley Mill father BERTIE SEVERN licensed victualler
Witnesses BERTIE SEVERN and GEORGE WILLIAM HUTSBY
ANNIE FLORRY SEVERN also had a brother called BERT-I knew both of them-Bert (junior) died about 5 yrs ago-he died in mapperley Village-lived opposite The Black Horse. before retirement he had a business in West Hallam-all the places fit in!!! Just got to fit in the names!!!!The Midland Hotel (now called The Mill) is right on the Notts/Derbys border
I also have a lot of CLAY marriages which I haven't attempted to fit together yet-let me know if you are looking for any CLAY marriages and I will see if they are on my file.
By the way-I noted this marriage for the Holmes connection-mty tree is getting scary-I am so inbred!!!!!Sue

ANNIE always used to do the highland fling for us on New Years Eve!!!

BMD reg dist for these would be Basford-worth checking to see if there were any BERTIE SEVERN's-or just ALBERT'S
By the way Shipley Gate is where "Shipley Boat " is-and Stoneyford is just a few rows of cottages-near to "The Stoneyford Boat"-part of Langley Mill/Aldercar
