I'm a twin (two boys), my father was a twin (boy/girl) and my maternal grandmother had twin sisters and twin aunts. My wife has no history of twins in her family and we haven't had any. I don't expect my daughter therefore to produce a twin. However.....time will tell!
These days it's recognised that a twin can be slow to relate to the outside world and so be slow to learn to talk and one of them tends to be left-handed. I wonder if a genealogical survey can throw up any other twin-isms. There's also the question of how far apart the births were and the significance of having different birthdays. The research possibilities must be endless...............
Noo -I think I'd feel even more sorry for your relative's wife if the twin was still alive when he returned!
