*COMPLETED*Thames marriage 1890s CAMPBELL

Hi there
I hope someone can help me as I've run out of ideas.  I'm looking for Grandma CAMPBELL - names unknown.

Grandma married William Albert Edward Lorne CAMPBELL about 1890-1900

Grandma is the mother of Colin Lorne CAMPBELL-Presbyterian, born 1903 at Karangahake, who married Rona Isobel ENSOR born 1909 at Thames (William Percival/Moses/Samuel/John).

Grandma's other children are Gladys, Lillian, Amy, Alec,  Ruth and Ben (adopted).

I have found a William A E Lorne CAMPBELL buried 1938 Tararua Cemetery (native of Thames) which may be the right husband, ie Grandad.

Also Elizabeth AMELIA CAMPBELL buried 1917 (which maybe Grandma as she died young ) with another Amelia who may be Grandma's mother-in-law ie Great Grandma.

I'm sorry I don't have more to go on.

Thanks HEAPS for that marriage info.  There's no one left alive to ask.

So it looks like that is the correct William CAMPBELL (1875ish-1838) buried a Tararua.  Let the games commence...

FYI, that Cemetery is Tararu in Thames.

Tararua is a district further South...

Looks like there were at least 2 CAMPBELL families in that area.

This might be one of theirs too.....

You are absolutely correct.  I just got a bit carried away with typing lots of aaaas.

Wee Emily Amelia sound a likely candidate, thank you.

I noticed an "early" Campbell family in that area but can't connect to it as yet.  I would assume ours were miners given the Karanghake connection.  Does that seem reasonable?

You will see lots of your names, mining Thames

Also you can check out some street addresses/occupations at my Directories page
1906 there is a WM Campbell living at Tararu

There are lots of WELLS in the directories, you would do well to get some certificates to confirm her parents.
If they married in Thames an excellent place to look is the HILLS index
for newspaper reports of that time

On the NZSG V5 index are school records, first I saw was for COlin at TARARU school 1907 more info from Hauraki Indexing Group. There contact is on the TREASURY link (??I think) or NZSG members can ask research team for lookups
