Hi Mum44 & Tricia,
Loved the banter between you two. Thank you both for trying to help.
The EMMELINE I am trying to find are with her parents in 1881 at Frogs Hall, Northrepps, Norfolk. Her parents are George Abraham Fox and his wife Maria.
They are in Sidestrand in 1891 but she was not with them. I did notice that there were a couple of Emmelines born within a few years of each other so I was trying to verify which was my Emmeline and if indeed it was a Merrison that she married. I expect both Emmelines belong to my family but have'nt come across the other one yet in my research. I'll see if I can find all my records (not very good at filing) and make sure I've entered everything correctly. Thanks again for all your help.
Regards, Joan

Good morning Joan

Can we assume that your Emmelina is the one on the 1891 with her Aunt?

That safely excludes her from marrying the Merrison chap

Tricia :)

Hi Tricia,
Yes, I think that's definately the one, her mother was a GRAY and one of her relatives was married to a FARROW, although I haven't come across Hannah yet, but its early days.
Thanks so much Tricia.

I have details on the Fox, Howard, Ainger and Edge families for Gt. Ryburgh, North Creake and Burnham Deepdale going back to 1732. Does anyone have any photos of these villages in 19c?

Hello,

My Great Great Grandfather is Frederick Merrison, he was in the Royal Navy and served in Bermuda, and was born in Norfolk area.

I think you guys are mentioning him here. Is this chat still active?

Hi Tomonkey,
Do you know if Frederick was in any way related to the FOX or Gray families in Norfolk?

Hello. Yes Frederick's wife is Emmeline Fox. They have the same marriage folio number to prove it. So Emmeline is my great great grandmother. I have pictures of them that I can share. Are you on ancestry? Do you have any pictures or anything?

I am quite excited as I have found records for Frederick being convicted of theft at the age of 12, joining the navy at 15, and from family stories he was a very stern honest man so I am wondering if my grandad knew his grand father had a criminal record.

Tom.
