Hi I'm many years late to respond but I don't think William Whittingham 1827 is your ancestor as I'm descended from him and he didn't marry an Ann Davey in South Wales. He lived in Montgomery and my family still live in Montgomery. Sarah Whittingham 1798 can be traced back to Richard and Jane Whittingham of Alberbury in the early 1600s - thats as far as I've got anyways. Sarah had a son William out of wedlock who took the Whittingham name. Sarah remarried to Jeremiah Gwilt of the Piggin Tavern in Montgomery, but had no children with him. Jeremiah helped raise William. William married Anne Whitticase and they lived on Kerry Street, Montgomery. I have a photo of him from the 1880s stood outside the house. They had children William 1853, Sarah 1855, Charles 1857, Anne 1860, Edward 1863, Elizabeth 1865 and Margaret 1867. All of these children moved from Montgomery except for the eldest Wiliam. William married Emma Yapp, the Yapp family is a large family which come from the Lydbury North area and many Yapps still live in the area to this day. William and Emma had children William John, Alfred George and Walter Henry. Known as Fred, Jack and Walter. Jack married twice. First marriage his children were Jack, Frank, Wilfred, George, Phyllis and Mary. Second marriage his children were Jean, Eileen, Trixie, Joyce and Lynn. Fred had children Bill, Beryl and Alfreda, and Walter had children Mollie, Ivor, Bryan and Bill. Many descendants still live in Montgomery area to this day including me
