Illsley - Reading - 1851
« on: Thursday 16 October 08 20:50 BST (UK) »
Is there anyone who can look up Thomas Illsley for me in the 1851 census (or the 1841 census)? Thomas Illsley was born c.1823 and was married in 1856, so was probably living at home with his parents in 1851, probably in Reading, aged about 18. Any help would be greatly appreciated! (Thomas would be my great great great uncle) Best wishes and regards - Ron Millard

Hi Isobel - many thanks, that does look like him but as he's not 'at home' doesn't take me much further forward. Hope someone can find him in the 1841 census.
In any event many thanks for your help, very much appreciated. Ron

I personally wouldn't be happy about any of this information without obtaining the marriage certificate and obtaining the name of his father ;D

Many thanks Tricia for all your help. I will have to get hold of the certificate as although the information does look hopeful, there would have been a brother Arthur who would have been about 4 in 1841 - wherer was he? I suppose he could have been some where with his father who is also not in the census, but as you say i really need to see the marriage certificate to try and verify this. Many thanks - Ron
