You are right 6 months between Hannah dying then getting married to Jane, Hanna's parent's took in 2 of their children Mary and Hannah, i think he needed some one to look after the children

Trivia Angle.
First wife could have died as late as 30th Jun. He could have married second wife as early as 1 October-  gap 3 months and a wee bit.
