Dave - we've discussed and decided to leave open for now.

After all, the other site was kind enough to mention Rootschat and we're big enough to take it, lol!

Hugh is welcome to return at any time and I can understand his not wanting to duplicate all his replies.

I'm a member of another family history forum and some one there has posted the following link to an archived Hugh Wallis site.

Thanks for the tip.  I think personally I will be staying away til Hugh lets us know he's remedied the virus issues - but others might be braver.

Think I'll be staying away too, having had one to many visits from computer bugs in the past! Just though if anyone was desperate to find something and were feeling brave it might prove useful! ;)

I'm brave.
Seems to work OK for me now.  No Rootsweb warning.

Having said that, I was one of the first to respond to the initial post on this thread saying there was no problem (AVG user).

I've been researching my family history for about 15 years, and have put some of my surnames in my profile, so if anyone has any interest let me know! I live in North Yorkshire, and that's about the only place I don't have ancestors from, typical.....! ::)
