Anyone tried to new search on the IGI? (pilot only at the moment) - bloody awful!

For anyone with ancestors in Durham and Northumberland, like myself, this site has proved to be a treasure trove because it contains scanned images of many of the Diocese of Durham Bishops Transcripts.
However, you cannot search the transcripts by name - you have to trawl through each parish page by page. I imagine the same is the case for some of the other records.
New records are added from time to time.
It is not a replacement in any way for the IGI or the Hugh Wallis index.

Record Search Pilot Site

Record Search is still under development. This release is considered a PILOT. This means that at times Record Search will not be available while we add additional records and improve some features. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We look forward to receiving your feedback.

Hugh I would like to thank you for all the effort you have put into the site it was and hopefully going to be a very usefull site and has helped me a great deal of other people.

I did start this thread and did so as I got the virus threat several times and as it said it was a worm virus I thought it best to warn people. As it turns out it was not only me. I use a reputable anti - virus which is Avast which a lot of people who had problems when AVG upgraded there anti virus, swaped over to. The problem seems to occur when you go into the site one way but not the other (please read update).

I hope the site is up and running very soon.

There seems to be some confusion over the LDS wbsites.

Familysearch this includes the Ancestral File, Census, IGI, Pedigree Resource File, US Social Security Death Index, Vital Records Index and Family History Web Sites is at-
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp

The new Record Search Pilot Site is at-
http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=0

A listing of the contents of this new site may be found at-
http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=4

Oh, good heavens!! What's occurring?  >:(

Bring back the Hugh Wallis site - I can't cope without it. This new site is absolutely awful - it doesn't even find stuff that I know is there!! Is this meant to be progress?!!

Do Ancestry have a share in the new site or something?!!  :-X
