The Hillside Cemetery at Houghton Cut opened in 1854 because of fear that the churchyard at St Michael's would be overwhelmed by deaths from the cholera epidemic.

The Friends of Hillside Cemetery have a website at www.theoldcem.co.uk and if you follow the 'burials' link on the website you will find that there are two Sarah Snowballs buried there.  You can obtain the information that the Friends Group has for a small charge.
