David Norrie
« on: Saturday 11 October 08 12:53 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help me please?
My great great grandfather died in Fintry in 1881 but I cannot find his birth. There is a David Norrie born 1809 in Fintry but he is definitely not the right person.
On his death certificate he is age 81 - parents Alex Norrie and Ann Dobbie. I have 9 children - Alex born 8 March 1800; Alex born 2 May 1788; Andrew born 27 Jan 1787; Andrew born 9 Feb 1806 - could it be one of the two younger boys or could it be one of the daughters' child not christened and brought up by grandparents, he was living with his 'mother' in 1841 census aged 40.
Any help would be wonderful, thanks

Hi Tucker,
Checked for a David Norie and there was one born in Fintry 1770 to Alexander Norie & Margret Moir:
OPR Birth Search, 480/0020 0043 Fintry:
             21st. of February, 1770.

Could this be the one you are looking for??
                                               Regards,
                                                        Dunmac.
P.S. Look back at Norrie post on page two for list of their children. Have SP. search list for Fintry OPR Births that shows your Norrie/Dobbie children.

Thanks for all that information although I had already got that far but still no David.
I believe my Alexander and your John were brothers, sons of Alexander Norrie and Margaret Moir.
I see you are researching McIntyre - are they from Fintry?
Thanks, again, Tucker
