Hi

Do you have photos of both - or either - Christopher/Emily?   I would love to see them.

Cheers

I can send email you the photos. My mother recognizes Elizabeth, her grandmother and Ned Counihan as well but there are other people she does not know. Can you send me your email and I will forward them on to you.

>>In the 1920 Census of New York/Manhatten, a Christopher Counihan (from Ireland) can be seen living with his sisters Nora and Sarah.  By the 1930 Census, Christopher has re-married and has a daughter Emily.
Can anyone confirm whether this is the same Christopher Counihan (son of Richard), who gave his address as Clare Street at the time of his marriage in Limerick?<<

This Christopher is Christopher Eugene Counihan, son of Cornelius and Sarah Alice McCARTHY COUNIHAN b. Jan 13, 1883 Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland; address is BOOHERSLIA [sic];  sponsors Simon CONNOR and Catherine FITZGERALD; one of 13-16 children of Cornelius and Sarah. In Griffith's (1852) his address is Connor's Lane, Tralee. I am descended from his aunt, sister to Cornelius, Mary J. Counihan who married James KILEY and emigrated first to Connecticut and then to NYC.  I have not come across a Richard Counihan in my research.

The prior post asked if anyone could confirm the identity of the Christopher Counihan in Manhattan with his sisters.  My post identified him and his parents, not the Christopher Counihan of Clare St.
