Hiya Neah,

The site which mentioned a property called "Bateson's Quay" in Moira which belonged to John Harvey in 1828 is broken but John Harvey is shown on the list of subscribers to Samuel Lewis's 1837 Topographical Dictionary of Ireland ...

Best Wishes, Christopher

Hi Neah

Very interested in your research names.  My Great Aunt Elizabeth Titterington was born in Moira in 1893.  Her mother was Mary Titterington (no father known).  Mary was the daughter of Edward & Margaret Titterington.  Elizabeth was raised by relations in Belfast (we have been led to believe that she was living with an Aunt) .  When Elizabeth signed the covenent she was living at 2 Devonshire Villas, North Parade Belfast.  The person who signed the covenent before her was C M Dobbin.  As Elizabeth was only about 18 when she signed I thought perhaps she might have gone with someone - they both gave their address as North Parade so I have been trying to find a Dobbin connection.  How is your Dobbin family connected to the Titterington's?  Would be very interested to know if they are related.

I believe that Edward Titterington, married to Margaret Turnbull in Moira (St John'sChurch) in 1857 was my ancestor.  I think he may have been raised in  or near Slaidburn, Yorks as I can't find any evidence of him in Ireland before his marriage.  Any help would be much appreciated.

My great grandfather James was born in Moira and was son of Edward.

Hi Bob Currie

You mention having all the church records for the Titteringtons in Moira.  I wonder if you might be willing to share this information with me.  My great great grandfather is I believe, Edward Titterington and am particularly searching for his birth certificate.

Yours Linda nee Titterington

Thank you for this.  I have details of this marriage, but am now trying to get details of their births/baptisms.  My theory for Edward is that he was born in Slaidburn, Yorks, (1841 census) but desperately searching for proof that this was so.

Thanks again.

I believe my GGGrandfather, Edward Titterington lived in Moira in the mid 1850s.  One of his sons, James was my GGrandfather.

May we exchange info?
