Still on the hunt for photographs of Grace Darby

Do have a photograph of Norah and John Thomas Darby Grave and The date you have for John Thomas Darby should be 1944 not 1943.

Please still look for information about Norah Adeline Darby's son.

Will email you some photos soon.

1       England (Counties as in 1851-1901) / Leicestershire / Re: Lucy DARBY       on: Sunday 31 December 06 19:03 GMT (UK)
Arthur Darby b 1860 was the son of William Darby b1814 (Barrow on Soar) and Louisa b 1826 (Countesthorpe, Leicester).  He was one of five children:
Charles b 1869
Edwin b 1864
Ellen b 1866
Walter b 1862

Charles was my husband's grandfather.
Willam and Louisa are buried in the Trinity Church graveyard in Barrow in Soar.  I would be grateful for any help to find the parents of William.

This is a quote from a previous single post.
I am unable to PM this chatter!

MY grandmother was the daughter of
Charles Darby + Ada E b.1867 Huddersfield

Her name was Edith born 1895-1949. (she married Valentine Gardner/ lived Horsforth Yorks)

Do you know anything about Ada's unmarried name
How many children they had . . . anything really
Occupations?
Would be grateful

Thanks very much I found that site you mentioned, but I was unable to use it as I don't have Excel on my Mac Laptop!!! and no PC access out here in the bush! (I am in Australia at the moment)I didn't know that the E stood for Eliza either so Thanks again. The strange thing is my granddaughter has now got ancestors on both sides of her family tree from Barrow on Soar. On my husbands side they moved to Long Buckby in Northampton (Canal connects) and were mostly shoemakers.
My mum and Dad met in WW2 in foreign parts and got married in Italy, much to my grandmother (dads side) distaste. I was very surprised to find out the huge number of relatives in Yorkshire/Leicestershire/The world that I never met or even heard about. My mum's mum died when I was 2. Her and her sisters all had son's die young too.
Finding out about you relatives is a heart-wrenching business isn't it. There has been some sad stuff. But it is pathologically interesting. My daughter is gathering information for studies in the genetic path of some illnesses. But we have found ourselves path-blocked on lots of occassions by adoptions and a lot of infant mortality around the turn of the century.

I have a Joseph Darby B abt 1819 in Belton, Leicestershire.  He married a Martha Merriman on 8 April 1844 in St Margaret's Church, Leicester.  In the 1851 census they were in Groby, Leics with their children William, Sarah, John and Edwin.  Is he in your tree??

All I have about Joseph is from the marriage certificate - his father was John Darby.  I think Joseph died in 1854 and have a GRO ref. for that but no certificate.  Martha re-married in 1866.

My Merrimans were largely around NW Leicestershire - the same stamping ground as the Darbys
Weston/Wesson, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire & Leicestershire
