i wonder if anybody would look up a birth for me. the only details i have are fron 1851 census which states that THOMAS BICKERSTAFF born about 1806 in AYR SCOTLAND but i dont know if it means Ayr as in the town or Ayrshire. It has become a brick wall in my tree
He married in Birmingham in 1828 to a Ann Bailey, I dont know if he had any siblings or not
hope some body can help me

Hello

Unfortunately Scotlands People don't have him, and the IGI has only the 3 submitted entries you're I'm sure aware of.

We have in our family tree a Samuel Bickerstaff b1858 in Aryshire married 20 Jun 1884 at Stevenston, Ayrshire to my G Grandmothers sister Esther McGrattan, he died in 1908.

I never followed him up but the date might fit the 1851 census if it was the Scottish census.

You would find more details on his marriage cert at Scotlandspeople.

a long shot but you never know

Brian
