John Tait

Hi,
Could someone please find John Tait for me on the 1871, 1881 & 1891 census.
He married Isabella Gibbon in Houghton-Le-Spring in 1899 & the 1901 census shows him as age 29 & born in Lumley, Durham.
Im looking for the names of his parents & siblings plus any other information.

I followed a likely lead yesterday, but it wasn't your family. Their John Tait was living with parents in 1901

Can't find Cazay's people in the 1901 census - trying to find out whether this John Tait (Tate) has moved out in 1901, but can't find the family.

Hi Susan
I think you may have to see the parish register or get the marriage certificate on this one then at least you will know his father's name and occupation.  Without it you have no proof that you are following the right line.

Thank you all for your help. The John Tate in the census is my John Tate but im actually trying to help someone who is looking for a different John Tait. Unfortuately the person who is looking doesnt know anything about him except his marriage (1899 Houghton)  to Isabella Gibbon. I think you are right & the only way forward for him is to buy the marriage cert.

Yes i have the family transcribed under Gate. Took me quite a while to find them as you can imagine lol.
