Many thanks to all who have helped on this. I'm in Edinburgh and don't get through to the West very often but have just learned of the whereabouts of one or two Dairon graves and hope to go soon (I really need to get a life! lol) Not sure of Edward's grave though but I'll check out local churches whilst I am there.
I always imagined that Oak Villa would be one of those substantial Victorian houses because the Dairons were quite well off. Edward Dairon's daughter bought a house in Uddingston too in Clydeford Drive, around the 1930's I think, and I remember visiting it for a holiday as a child in the late 50's. Its one of those 1920 type bungalows with lots of space and little nooks and crannies - owned by a strict but kindly VIctorian Great Aunt who had very fixed ideas on how my sister and I should behave!
So I may have seen Oak Villa, maybe she pointed it out when we went for a walk, but if she did I don't remember.
Thanks again
Annie
