Hy , i recently joined & would like some help on researching one of my Ancestors ,William Henry Sephton or Sefton , born 1864 , i have both his children birth & marriage certificates ,mothers name is annie brennan but i cannot find any entry for them in any census , hope some kind person can help so i can stop banging my head on a brick wall ellen

Looking again at your post - do you have William and Annie's marriage certificate?

That will have their father's names   

As Jan says - as much as you know, please - including dates

yes ,william henry's children are, my grandfather, william henry sephton, b 16/4/1886 lived at 17 railway rd walton when born,mothers named as annie brennan, annie septon b 1888 7 birchfield rd walton when born, mother annie brennan,william henry married ellen kelly 6/8/1906 at the parish church L/pool ,annie wed william owens 8/8/1909 at st ambrose church everton  :)it is my great grandfather the 1st william henry sephton & annie brennan i cannot find a marriage certificate or find them on any census , this is what is holding me up on my family tree ,thank you for any help ,ellen

i cannot find a marriage...have looked through each quarter from 1884 Q2 - 1886 Q3.

Do you think that they may have married in Ireland ?

Thank you for your help, i really could not say, but what baffles me is ,when both their children were born they lived in liverpool & when their children married  they lived in liverpool
