Hi Kelsey,

No problem here is the info. ;D

Historic Gorey 4 - Reflections of 1798 by Michael Fitzpatrick.
it was printed by "the central remedial clinic training unit" in dublin.
i have the telephone number too so PM me if you want it - i would assume i cannot post a telephone number on the website!!

there is no isbn number or barcode or anything on the book. It was published in 1998.

It was just a local publication for Gorey as part of the series of historic gorey books by michael.

Unfortunately Michael does not keep books to sell; they just are sold locally until they sell out- i have asked him before about any spare copies of his books.

It might be hard to source as it is a more local history book and not in general circulation. Saying that
though i have sourced copies for sale in the USA sometimes you are just lucky and find one for sale on the internet.

If you have no luck in sourcing it PM me.

Thanks
Gerard

Hi lochgarman,
Thanks a million for that info.  I'm hoping it might be available through the county library so I will try that route first.  If I have no luck I will PM you.  Its a pity those local history books are not more available. They are usually invaluable.  Even in the official 1798 Centre in Enniscorthy which I visited last summer the selection of books was small. Very disappointing for us culture vultures!!!

Hi Tree1110,
how did you manage to source it with the website you mentioned? I checked it out as would be interested in getting a second copy of the book if available; but there is only the contact link on the website. I did email them; but they are asking for an ISBN. i don't think the book has an ISBN number but I will check it again. If there is no ISBN number how did you manage to get a copy?

Many thanks
Gerard

PS Michael Fitzpatrick is giving a talk on the 20th April in Gorey as part of the North Wexford Historical Society!

Hi kelsey 64,

About the talk - and the subject not sure yet what the topic will be. It may be mentioned on the facebook page of North Wexford Historical Society, so see if you can find them on it and join as a friend. I am sure it will be mentioned in the Guardian Newspaper over the next few weeks as well. I was at a talk the other night and they just mentioned it. THe talk should be in Gorey Library me thinks.
If you find out anymore about the book sourcing let me know. I would like to get a spare copy too. I will recheck about the ISBN number but am pretty sure there is not one on the book which is strange.

I just went through all of my emails and found this ...

Their email: paperback-us[at]paperbackshop.co.uk

And this item associated with the book#...9781151021939 History of the Irish Insurrection of 1798

Hope this helps. I am bummed that I will be in Ireland on the 28th of April and will miss seeing him talk. I'll have to see if they have any info on how to contact him. Trina
