Just a bit of good fortune
« on: Tuesday 07 October 08 18:53 BST (UK) »
Found, almost by accident, the farm my gg-grandfather worked on in the 1870s...

:) :)
Preston - Pennington/Hawarden/Bland/Schofield
Glamorgan(shire) - Beattie/Bevan/Williams/Ellis-Anwyl
Wigan - Pennington [I know, I know...]/Pugh (Haydock area)

Also of note -
Willoughby Hawarden -  have his War Records but what happened to him?
Nimrod Pugh - just a fantastic name!

How exciting!!   Tremendous!   I would be 'over the moon' and posting it as well.   I expect you were too.   Make sure you can get a copy of it, that's wonderful.

What a wonderful site - I've just found a whole page of photos of the village where my Scottish ancestors lived, including one of the church and churchyard where they are buried  :D  :D.

Thanks so much for posting the link, doktorb.
