i Have managed to locate the birth of my great grandafather born Jul Aug Sept 1901 in Cheshire i am unable to see his mother maiden name or find any info in the 1901 cesus is there anyone that can find out any more information for my please.

As Lionels birth was registered in Sept qtr 1901 then he would have been born after the census was taken.

It would be advisable to purchase his birth certificate which would give you his parents names.

or do you have his marriage cert? That would give father's name and occupation

Mothers maiden names are not included on Birth regs ntil 1911

apollogies the surname is Rowlands not Williams i am just getting cinfussed now so many names. will this be the only way to purchase the birth cert.

You can search CheshireBMD's -but I didn't find him on there.

it is (if you can) advisable t purchase the certificate -to make certain you are following the correct line.
