George CAIN b. ?1823-1830
« on: Monday 06 October 08 08:37 BST (UK) »
Hello,
Does anyone have any information on George Cain b. Nottingham? ::) ???

Not a lot to go on with this fellow but believed he came to Australia as a convict.
It is said that his fathers given name was Benjamin and his mother was Jane nee Wilson.
George died in Camperdown Victoria Australia in 1883.
Any help to find his birth or record of why he came to Australia would be much appreciated.

Hi Julierose

I think more information is needed on this one.

Hi Carol,
Thank you for your reply.  George Cain married in1858 to Ann Erskine here in Australia (Camperdown Victoria).  On marriage cert it states he was from Notts and father Benjamin and mother Jane.
His age is stated as 60 at his death in 1883.
Thanks for trying to assist.
I believe he came as a convict around 1837.?
