Hi Allan and welcome to rootschat!

I hope you manage to find some family connections via this site.

If you have any specific questions regarding any of your ancestors, ask away on the appropriate board. I've recently been contacted by a couple of distant relatives who've found our common ancestor's names via a google search - all because I'd mentioned them on rootschat.

If you go to the top of any page on rootschat there is a bar along the top - under "surnames", you can add your names - and check to see if you may have connections with other rootschatters.

Hope you enjoy rootschat and good luck with your research.

Allan Welcome to rootschat.

Agree with Ruskie about putting names on the Surnames Interests Board... makes it easy for people to seach and get in touch.   It's a good way to go.

I hope you find a match. Don't forget to check the lists for others searching the same surnames in the same area.  ;)

Hello Achilles, I have Wright in my family. A James Wright was my great grandfather. He lived in Pinchbeck for a time and married a Pinchbeck girl -Eliza Cole. They moved to Nottingham for a time
and my grandfather was born at Norwell. James was dead by 1881 as his wife is described as "widow"living at Alverthorpe  Yorks . James` parents were Henry (49 or 69, badly transcribed )a farmer and Jane36 in the 1841 census  at Walcot .Henry Wright was dead by the 1851 census. James was born at Walcot. He was a wheelwright. He and Eliza had a son  Henry and a daughter Rebecca. Eliza re-married and her son Henry took his step-father`s surname, but  Rebecca kept Wright for some things but used her step-father`s name for others. I am descended from Henry ,James Wright`s son. If thre is any connection I should be pleased to hear from you. Viktoria.
