Old maps of Manchester
« on: Saturday 04 October 08 19:39 BST (UK) »
Having struggled with my Belton Burns family I am now settling on trying to look at old
street maps - but not sure where Flora St in 1861 would be classed as - on the census
in 1861 it shows Hulme, Medlock St Mark.  Does anyone know which map i should
try and buy ??
thanks mariam

If you did want to splash out on a map, Flora St is on Godfrey map "Manchester Large Scale" No. 38, Hulme (1844) or "Lancashire Sheet 104.10" Manchester SW, 1894.

It was near the Knott Mill Iron works and Great Jackson St.

A bit of a grey "moment" there.  The posting to RC was made by our old friend Orinoco on the 17th. May 2008.  The correct website is:
