Hi Jan,
Thanks for your interest. This is the information I have.
In the 1901 census the Henry family are living at 94 Upper Essex Street, Toxteth Park, as follows:-
John Henry, Head, 48, Painter; Annie, Wife, 42; Margaret, Daughter, 21;
John, Son, 18; Alice A, Daughter, 16; Mary A, Daughter, 12 ; Hugh, Son, 5;
Norah, Daughter, 1.
There was one other son, my father, born later in 1901 who was living at the family address when he married in 1934. Margaret (also a midwife) and John never married and I assume they lived at this address until their mother died. Norah died in infancy and Hugh died in WW1. The other members of the family married.
We know that John Henry Senior died some time before 1918 and we’re awaiting the death certificate.
I’ve checked the death indexes for Annie and have a possibility in 1937 (aged 78) but older members of our family do not remember her being alive in their lifetime so it is only a possibility. We don’t have a definite DOB for Annie and we have already ordered three wrong birth certificates so want to be sure before ordering again, as it can get very expensive.
If you can throw any light on the matter it would be very much appreciated. Thanks Isi.
