Eleanor Shaw - who's driving me mad!

Hello,
I have come to bit of a brick wall in trying to find out any further details of my husband's great great grandmother Eleanor Shaw.

I have her marriage certificate dated 7.6.1891 to Henry Rimmell bricklayer at Parish Church of St. Pancras.  It states that she was a spinster, aged 25 (so born approx 1866), no profession, living at 6 Seymour Street, and her father was David Shaw deceased labourer.  Witnesses were Herbert William Lambert (grooms brother in law) and Eliza Hodgson.

In 1901 census she is listed as Ellen Rimmell born c1871 London, living with daughter Kate Rimmell born c1889 Hornsey and son William born c1898 Hornsey.  (RG13 1242 18 27) Husband Henry Herbert and son Henry Herbert born 1891 not with her.  (can't find them either in 1901 )

I cannot find Eleanor in any other census nor an Eleanor with a father David.  I have looked through the birth registers and found 3 possible Eleanor Shaw born between 1865 and 1872 in a London area but have accounted for all of them in 1871 and
1881 census with fathers not named David!

Any suggestions or help would be most gratefully received.

Could she be Helena? There is a Helena Shaw (b 1867 Islington) with father David living at 19 Muswell Rd, Hornsey on 1881 census.

Hi Nanny Jan,
That could be a possible.  I notice in 1881 his trade was painter, whereas on the marriage certificate it was Labourer, but also that Helena isnt listed as a scholar which is good because Eleanor only put her mark on the marriage certificate.  I will investigate further on this family.

Hi,
   She doesnt appear to be at 6 Seymour Street, Pancras on the 1891, RG12/128  14/23.
Strangely there is the following in 1891
Rg12/49  67/35
                                                                                                     Born
Nellie G  Shaw head s 30  Barmaid out of employment  London, Seymour street,
                                                                                                 Euston Square.

But , tracing her back , her parents are Josiah and Louisa, the G stands for Gertrude.
Age wrong as well.
Nanny Jans sounds very likely though.

Have you looked for her as "Shore" ?

I was looking for Shaw once and the search facility on the particular resource I was using listed that name as well.

And perhaps Ellen?  One of my whichever gt grandmothers was baptised Eleanor, but was entered as Ellen thereafter.

From the 1901 census the two children who would be old enough to appear on the 1891 census appear to be in Hornsey. It would be unlikely given the age of head of household Sarah, that either are actually her children. Both are more likely to be her grandchildren.
