Yes, thank you so much, you have hit the nail right on the head:- the links you provided all relate to the 'Thomas Capper' family in South Africa. I have found many documents and events in South Africa, starting in about 1850, that link them together. The 50 million dollar question though, is how to prove that this is the same 'Thomas Capper' who was born in Waringstown, and who was one of the many sons of Mathew Capper and Catherine Carey. The death record of the South African 'Thomas Capper' says he was European, and we can calculate from it that he was born in abt. 1824, which corresponds quite well to the Irish 'Thomas Capper', but after that I have become bogged down trying to prove that they are indeed the same man. I know that the 28 year "TC' married an Irish girl (Hellen Corns) in Fort Beaufort, South Africa in 1853, who's father Charles Corns was serving in the same British regiment as 'TC' (91st Argyllshire Highlanders) which helped protect British settlers from warring Xhosa tribes. But that's not really proof that TC was Irish himself, or from Waringstown. The death record of TC's son, Edward Charles Capper, says that TC was British. I am totally stuck, and I am hoping someone in this group may know what happened to the Irish 'Thomas Capper', so that I can lay this matter to rest !!

Yes, I have Thomas Capper's marriage record, but there is nothing about his past history. Date was 20 Nov 1853, Thomas Capper (28), Bachelor, Tailor, married Ellen Corns (15) spinster, Fort Beaufort, South Africa. After Bahns, St Johns Presbyterian Church, in the presence of Thomas Corns and Sarah Graham.

What I have from her shows that Thomas born 1822 is from Waringstown, she does not seem to have record of what happened to him - you are a promising lead!  Anything to show your Thomas was associated with the Methodist Church?
