Just clearing up my old paperwork and came across some notes for this -

There are five sisters (copied from message on page one of this thread)

Interesting births with Pontypridd registration, surname Morris all with mmn Davies

Dec 1911 Mary Jane <<<<<
June 1913 Dora M
Dec 1914 Ruth
Dec 1919 Megan
Mar 1925 Gwyneth

You say the mother of Mary Jane died aged 26 after giving birth to Gwyneth.  But she must have been a bit older than 26 with having Mary Jane in 1911.

Gwyneth was brought up by her aunt (her mother's sister) Martha after her mother died.
There was an uncle 'Shinkin' Jenkin (her mother's brother, and also brother to Martha.)

So I had this family in my notes which looks interesting.

1901 census RG13/5008/23/37  -  8 Penshwfer Rd (looks like), Tonyrefail

Benjamin Davies 48 coal miner born Llantrisant
Mary 46 b Ystradyfodwg
Catherine 18
Jenkin 16 coal hewer
Mary Ann 14
Richard 12
Martha 9  (the sister ?)
Ruth 5

[registration dist Pontypridd, sub reg dist Llantrisant]

Did you ever get the birth certificateof Mary Jane?   You really need it

Dec 1911 / district Pontypridd /vol 11a /page 1190
Mary J Morris - mother's maiden name Davies

There was a marriage in 1909 Pontypridd of a Mary Ann Davies to a Thomas Morris, but nothing can be really sure unless you have Mary Jane's birth cert.

Ther is a marriage for a Mary Jane Morris to Eric C K Mathews in 1936, so she wasn't really that young getting married, aged 25.  (if this is her)

There is a marriage in 1917 Pontypridd of a Martha Davies to an Arthur Huxton.
