Marriage lookup- Robert HAYWARD, yeovil

Hi,

I have a Robert Hayward marrying a Sarah Ann Windsor in 3rd quarter in Yeovil.  I have no idea where they were married and was hoping to avoid sending for the marriage cert.  Sarah Ann was my ggggrandmother and she had a daughter Mary Elizabeth Windsor(listed as being born in Bath in 1838 on the census).  I can find no trace of a birth cert for Mary Elizabeth and was wondering if she was born out of wedlock or from a previous marriage.  I was hoping to find out what was listed as her fathers name and occupation on the marriage cert to Robert Hayward.

on 1851 census mary Elizabeth is age 14 -which would give her a birth year of c 1837 -so her birth was possibly pre start of registration

sorry that was a bit stupid, 3rd quarter of 1841 .

I had thought of Mary Elizabeth being born before the start of registrations, but was hoping to find out if her mother had been married before.  I havent quite got around to sending away for certs on this side of the family and thought I'd try this instead.  Sarah Ann (the mother) was married at least twice (3 times if married to Mary Elizabeth's father)

Well -  this is a speculation  -  and I don't think you're going to get away without buying a certificate, but

There is a death in Bath Q3 1839 for a Charles Windsor  (Vol. 11 Pg. 39)

There is also a marriage fo Charles Windsor on 15 June 1834 in Chalcombe, Bath, to Sarah Ann Neads.

Just a thought - may be worth persuing - I can't find a bap. for Mary Elizabeth.

I had spotted the Charles Windsor death and grasping at straws thought that might be the one.  Gut feeling still tells me it is a definite possibility.  I had not stumbled across the marriage so that is a fantastic find for me!

I think what might be the best route would be to send away for the Hayward-Windsor marriage cert and hope that the info about her maiden name or previous marriage matches what I think it should!

It's a credit site - but has loads of PRs and is especially useful for pre-1837 
The prices are very reasonable - I think - buy a batch of credits and it lasts ages - unless you're doing a blitz.  Charles entry cost 8p.
