Looking for the baptism of Edward Jewhurst b c1811 in Beckley,Sussex who married Sarah Paine b c1811 in Beckley,Sussex in 1832 in Battle,Sussex.

Also looking for anyone also researching this name.

The Sussex Marriage Index has Edward Jewhurst, Bachelor, marrying Sarah Pain, Spinster, at Battle, on the 16th June 1832.  Both are of the parish.

Hope this helps.

I have Jewhurst's in one of my family lines, they are from Rye.   A Mary Jewhurst, baptised in 1795 at Rye, and then further back two generations but still in Rye.

Hi Debbi,

I visited the ESRO at Lewes yesterday and took a quick look at the Beckley PR's.

The baptism's are as follows :-

14-04-1811.  Sarah, daughter of John and Frances PAINE
14-07-1811.  Edward,  son of William and Hannah JEWHURST

There was a marriage on 08-07-1809 for John Paine, Widower and Frances Gamblin.
