Uniform identification and regiment. Thanks. [ Finished ]
« on: Monday 29 September 08 14:53 BST (UK) »
Hi there guys,

This is a picture of my great grandad Thomas Hodgkiss ( born 1885 ), I know he was sent to india, but i have no idea what regiment he was in, and why he would have travelled to India.. This was in WW1.

Has anyone seen similar uniform to what he is wearing... any help would be great.

He was from wolverhampton if that helps.

Thanks
Gary

Hi Gary  :)

A pity the photo does not provide us with a clue to his regiment.  Is there any more photos of Thomas in uniform or wearing a hat with a cap badge?  Can you tell us anything else, such as was he killed; did he survive; was he wounded, as there are quite a few soldiers with ithe dentical name on the medal index cards, even though you'd have thought he had an unusual name.
