Hi Tilly--you also need to check with the name Milward with a single L--more usual before 1800, and lots of them in the Hartington, Derbyshire area--I can have a more thorough look for you if you wish ( am already following the Milward and Bonsall surnames in that area of Derbyshire for a friend.

Mil(l)ward and Bonsall

In case it is of interest, in terms of DNA the Derbyshire surnames of Mil(l)ward and Bonsall are very unusual in the UK, the Y DNA (i.e. male) being E1b1b1b*A.  It is possible the original ancestor(s) were slaves who came to Britain with the Romans.  https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/peakdistrict/about/background
