Not sure if your still offering St Mary's lookups, if you still are it would be nice if you could please check for a Joseph Gatenby died after 1784, before 1837 I know its a wide time frame I just cannot locate anything on him.

Thanks

Hi Manga,

Just to clarify ... no-one on this thread was offering St. Mary's look-ups.  Ticker was offering, though he did not contribute to this thread.  So I think you are more likely to get a positive feedback by starting a new thread.

Cheers

Hi Tim,

You mention the Littlefield family in your reply to Gil (please see below).  Can you please tell me where to look for this image & what church you are referring to.  This is a direct family line of mine.  I'm new to this game & would like help in finding the locations for when I'm on holiday in the Whitby area later this year.

Thank you.

Littlejohn

"Thanks Gil,

Are you sure about the Ann in Church St.?  I just had another look at the image I have and it shows her as 55; below her is Jane Wilson, 65, and above her is a family called Littlefield.  I don't see any William!

Thanks also for your PMs, to which I shall reply.

All the best
Tim"

Hi Littlejohn,

Looking back at the thread, it seems Gil and I were looking at an image from the 1841 census for Whitby.  You can find this on-line at Ancestry.com, and other sites.  Just search for Littlefield and Whitby in the 1841 census.

Best of luck - I am also heading for Whitby in the next couple of weeks!

Cheers
