Harold George Cranch (1892-1976) who married Mary Gertrude Edge.
Like to know where they lived as I have some Edges from Cambridge, N.Z. in my Tree in that timeframe.

CRANCH - Harold George - of Tirau, formerly of Te Aroha  - 1976

CRANCH - Mary Gertrude - Te Aroha -  1971  :

(Looks like Harold may have moved to Tirau (South Waikato) following the death of Mary ?     Perhaps they had children or other family there ?) :

Just clutching at straws

Just wondered if Gertrude could be a sister of  Frank Edge who married my fathers sister Margaret. All of this side of the family have links to the Tirau,, Cambridge, Hamilton area.

Not really important, just if something comes up. Always looking for possible photos of family branches as I have very few.

Dont have Franks details to hand, got to go out, day off.

I have tracked down a couple of Edge descendants just this week and am meeting up with one of them in Nov. in Auckland.

They are not into research as such, but will see what I can find out then about Frank. Could possibly be a brother of Mary Gertrude

Trish I have address of a son of Harold Cranch who married Mary Gertrude Edge, they live at Tirau as does the son.   Harold was an Uncle of mine not that I ever met him that I was old enough to know.  BELLBIRD

Lucy 2  You're right, Fred's son is still alive although rather elderly,  Samuel Gills son has contacted me after his sister saw ad in NZ Womens Weekly.  They are in contact with Ray.  SGs son says he has alot of info and photos of churches and places ancestors came from.  He said his father Samuel Gill arrived in NZ on Athenic in 1907 and a surprise/ shock for Adele Another Cranch!!!!!) Just solved Anne Muriel problem and up I come with another Cranch which local folk don't seem to know of name Cranch at all!!   Harold George Cranch an Uncle, his daughter in law contacted me enthusiatic but since  silence has reigned, no response to an email.  So no further there currently.  Still have to chase the other names you and Althea came up with.  Got all my downloaded messages sorted now so much easier to check on who said what, who wanted what etc.

Yes, I know what it's like too, when you get swamped with lots of info  ... all at once !       But sounds like you've got things all nicely organised now   ... good on you !
