Mmmm  ...  yep, the Te Aroha birth - Samuel Raymond George (1919) did actually register as being "not quite the right son" for Frederick George and Edith Annie CRANCH,   given that I'd already found these people on Grey Lynn Electoral Roll 1919 and 1922 (at 6 The Avenue, Wynyard Road, Mount Eden).       But didn't get the opportunity to look again at the birth index yesterday (a right ol' bun-fight going on for the use of two manky 'fiche readers at the library).   

So now looking for birth of a  ? ? ? ?  CRANCH .. after 1920.

Have just edited my Reply # 31  (and also altered your quote,  which I'd used),  re: the "still to be identified" 3rd son of Frederick George and Edith Annie CRANCH.     I've removed the christian names because (having just viewed the NZ telephone directory), there is a very real chance, that this chappie may still be living ?

Just wondered if there is any extra info on;

Harold George Cranch (1892-1976) who married Mary Gertrude Edge.
Like to know where they lived as I have  some Edges from Cambridge, N.Z. in my Tree in that timeframe.
