Germany: ZUMFELDE
« on: Wednesday 17 September 08 12:38 BST (UK) »
Hi Bob

I managed to search on the website ww.ahnen-und-wappen.de a while ago using Babelfish to translate for me. I had some replies, but no successes.

I remember reading some postings on Rootschat about how to use www.aidaonline.niedersachsen.de/ which I now can't find. Can you help as I cant speak German?

I am looking for Eliza Wilhelmina Zumfelde's relatives/ancestors. She was born in Hamburg 8 Jan 1825. Her mother Dorothea Hermes was also born in Hamburg in 1788. Her father was Johann Wilhelm Zumfelde. Eliza came to Leith with her husband Jacob Christiansen in 1848. They had lived at 32 Paulstrasse Hamburg (acc to Hamburg Address book 1847) with their sons Oscar c1846, Richard c 1848 and Johann c1844. I have a tree for Jacob and a lot of detail after their move to Leith.

I would be most grateful for any tips.

Many thanks

Carolyn
