Welcome to RootsChat vat69!

Have you tried googling '1880 street map Southwick Sunderland'?  Turns up a few links that might help you locate what you are looking for.

Try http://www.durham.gov.uk/durhamcc/usp.nsf/pws/GIS+-+Online+Mapping

Click on 'Launch GIS now'.
When the map screen has loaded, click on 'search', select 'town' and enter Southwick.
A present-day map of Southwick will load. You can select old maps via the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page. Zoom in or out using the +/- buttons.

I have a copy if you let me know what you are looking for.

I was intrigued by your user photo of Grandma Janet - Harry Wardle was my great uncle. he married a Janet Lown. They lived in Clockwell Street. Is there a link? ::)
