My Unwin family of Impington

Just sent a note [dissapeared off screen] sorry cannot help  but UNWIN andALLEN  family are [friends? relies? associates way back in history] do check UNWIN on Google when feelin lonely or a link  best of good wishes to you and your research.. please read my Allen messages? too all in mon; thorn ,glo; etc boards.. as u may find they are related to Unwin of WALES i presume, the Unwins were or; of Wales/ regards Di in Oz. x

Over the many years of FH research I have NEVER found another researcher  working on the above...........
Where are you ALL ??

My direct line
Martha Unwin b 1842 = Charles Taylor
Her parents...Timothy Unwin bc 1818 = Sarah Ann Miller
His parents ...Nathaniel Unwin bc 1781 =Susan

I have details of the families from censuses etc......they were Ag Labs and Gardeners....no link has been found to Unwin Seeds.......but the family said there was a link to Chivers Jams !!!

I do hope that there is someone out there also researching them.

I am not researching this family line but my Grandmother worked at Chivers for a while.

 Hi,
I stumbled across your message re Unwin's of Cambridgeshire.
My Grandfather, Alfred Unwin was born in Duxford, the home of "our" Unwins for several generations,  in 1876 and later moved to York, where he met my Grandmother, Blanche Bradley.
He was a Boer War Veteran and registered in the Census 1903  as Groom and Horse breaker.
They had 7 children, four in England, Alfred, Alice, Ivy and Doris and three, May, Leonard and Stanley (my father),  after emmigrating to Australia in 1912, where they settled and lived their life in Rockhampton, Queensland.
Attached is an old family photo taken circa 1952.
My cousin's wife has a lot of material and I have given her all my findings back several centuries whene we were Onions.

Tracing William (founder of seed firm) back through censuses it looks as if his parents were james and Frances

1881 census: Piece number 1657 Folio  31 Page 2

Going back to 1851 when James was with his parents, they were Nathaniel and Susan and he had a brother Alfred b abt 1847, and in 1841 there is a William b abt 1838 in the household (presumed to be another brother). Haven't located  this William later though, so may have died young.

Nathanial the father was born abt 1811 in Huntingdon, age doesn't fit with OP's Nathanial, but right age to be her Timothy's brother and son of her Nathanial

The father of Frances Ann Chivers was Philip. He could be the son of John and brother of Stephen who started the fruit and jam manufacturing
