I've more info. to add, so I'll just start again.
My great great grandfather was James Dooley (born c. 1842) married Catherine (Kate) Sly (born c. 1848) in Murrintown on 24th June, 1871. James's father was Peter and Catherine's father was Thomas Sly. They were both living in the Murrintown area at the time of their marriage.
Their children were:
Peter 07/01/1874 (died relatively young and his wife and family moved to UK)
John 06/12/1875
James 02/06/1877
William (Bill) 17/04/1879 (lived in Glynn and married a woman by the name of Wilkinson)
Mary Catherine 03/05/1881 (married Michael Sinnott & lived in Crossabeg)
Thomas 27/12/1882 (joined British Army, married in UK & had a son called George)
Nicholas 03/07/1885 (mechanic in British Army and was married to a woman from Co. Meath, lived in London, but had no children)
Edward 09/08/1887 (was in British Army also - never married)
Patrick 21/04/1888
Sarah Ellen 02/08/1890 (died young, but married locally & had approx. 2 kids)
Michael c. 1892.
All were born in Forth Commons or Staplestown.
My great grandfather was James. He like many of his brothers was in the British army. He married Margaret Reddy (daughter of Joseph Reddy) on 23rd Sept. 1902 in Murrintown and they had 5 children:
Mary Kate (Kathleen) 1903/1904
Margaret (Nellie) 1905
Sarah (1907)
Peter (1909/1910)
James (Sonny) (c. 1915)
I think the girls were born in Drinagh, Wexford, Peter was born in Portlaw in Waterford and James in Murrintown, Wexford.
The above Peter also joined the British Army, married in the U.K. He had approximately 3 daughters and 1 son. Peter died in (Peckam) London, I believe, in the late 1980's.
James Dooley (born c. 1915) moved to Dublin where his family still reside.
